I haven't been posting much lately (or doing very much either.) I have a very low-grade viral infection that isn't enough to keep me in bed, but doesn't allow me to do much else. After a day of work (and sometimes after only half days even) I am so sapped for energy that I have to crawl into bed by 8pm. And what does my doctor say? It just has to run its course. Drink plenty of fluids, blah, blah, blah.
So this post is just a short one to promote a Friday giveaway that features my Bobbin Wraps. Go check it out, enter the contest, and hopefully by the time the contest ends I am feeling better.

I listed a new product today in my destash shop called the SURPRISE BOX. My surprise box contains 3 yards of fabric, 10 yards of ribbon, 2 ounces of beads, and a wacky surprise to even further delight (or puzzle) the purchaser.
In honor of the launch, I looked around for some other cool destash surprise/mystery items to feature in this week's spotlight. Enjoy!

With only a minor casualty - I hammered my index finger (ouch!) - I managed to finish up the upholstered cornices today.
I built the boxes myself on Sunday, let the glue set, then upholstered the big one yesterday and the smaller one today. As usual, the time consuming activity was matching the stripes across four separate widths of fabric. But once you get the hang of having to match a pattern, it goes pretty smoothly.
The boxes are not completely enclosed or upholstered, but I tried to finish the edges neatly.
My initial idea with the trim was to have two horizontal rows of trim along the top and bottom, but actually I think the vertical trimming looks a lot better and compliments the stripes. I took a little bit of creative license here - hopefully my client won't mind.

Yay!

I made a treasury today featuring a lot of the handbags from the Carried Away Bag Team. Then I was told that my new shop was featured in a treasury by stevehunter121. Check them out!

Ah... the last Sunday in August. I kind of like this birthstone feature idea, but maybe in the other months now I will only feature it on one Sunday.
My mom sent me an awesome birthday present (I don't care that it is 2 weeks late.) It was a box filled with all these fabulous scarves, and a pair of peridot & diamond earrings tucked in. So that made me think of clothing to accessorize with my scarves (which are not all peridot, by the way.)
